He’s a living skeleton…

But somehow he’s super muscular.
Of course I’m talking about Skeletor. Who’d you think I was talking about? Former US Senator Slade Gorton?; No, because I’m keeping my mouth shut about former members the 9/11 commission, who also happen to be a descendant and namesake of the Gortons fisherman. Box of worms+Pandora’sbox, and a good way for a man to wake up dead.
The 9/11 commission under the watchful eye of The Illuminati Green Giant.

On a more serious note. I can’t help but spend a lot of time thinking about the state of modern creativity. I feel like we are simultaneously living in a time of unprecedented ingenuity, yet diminished creativity. A time where “new” can easily be substituted for “creative” and that seems to be ok.

It’s not ok.

I’m not a technology hater. The opposite really. I love technology. I love living in the future. But there’s a line. A creative line. It’s the line that The Matrix crossed, and most other CGI heavy movies don’t. I could sit you down and just tell you the story of The Matrix and you’d be fascinated. The special effects are just icing on the cake. Same goes for Pixar’s best. You have to have that creative spark first. I know I’m not saying anything new here. But it amazes me how rarely creativity trumps marketing.

That magic moment when a truly creative person finds them-self with the resources to create without a middle man second guessing their output is always a thing of beauty. And like things of beauty, it’s rare.

no answers here. Just questions. Or maybe a call for creative revolution.

Yeah…

Two things I love about NYC. 1)Cheap socks. 2) The subway system. I’m pretty convinced that the NY subway system is the actual Matrix. With zombies.  The zombies so far just beg for change, sleep and emit strange odors, but it’s only a matter of time until they get a taste for brains. Otherwise the rest of it is just virtual reality. Each subway car is a computer simulation to try and form a perfect collection of human diversity. Yesterday on the 2 train we were one African Pygmy away from having every human subtype represented. If the world above was destroyed in a freak nuclear acident, we could have repopulated the entire world just from within that one subway car. With the exception of the pygmies. Maybe if a pygmy had been in that train car, that would have been it.

Game over.
