Dram Shop on 9th St. in Brooklyn, bangin!! & a bit cheaper than DuMont. Dunno if I would go so far as to say better than DuMont but trust.. If it's not better it's a close second, delectable treat for the carnivore in us all.

Ok, ok, that's all fine - and i have loved Dumont, Dumont Burger and fine Dressler for many moons...(btw as an aside: the pomegranate martini at Dumont, and the Dark&Stormy at Dressler are pretty much two of the best cocktails in Manhattan right now)

but i want go back to the most interesting line in this post: "I've had burgers in Africa..."

where the hell?
.. north of Sahara?

- because the one thing I craved more than a hot shower when i spent three months traveling through the sub-Saharan is burgers. Specifically cheese burgers. I dreamt about them. I dreamt and thought and fantasized about burgers for weeks. Even just thinking back to my craving right now, makes me crave one. It was that bad.
