A lot of people don’t realize that the “teenager” is completely a post WW2 invention. For the entirety of human existence, first you were a child and meant to be ignored, and then you were an Adult, existing only to be ground into a fine powder to season the fatty venison of the upper classes. In 1956 some wiseacre had to go and invent demographics,and now people spend their whole lives pretending like being 15 is something to aspire to. Know what I aspire to? For those of you who are loyal readers, you already know the answer to that question.

It seems these days like more and more, the vangaurd of home architecture is south of the border. And I’m not talking about The Canadian border. This gem is the MC1 house. Designed by Juan Robles in Costa Rica. Because anybody can be col…but having reflecting pools in your living room takes practice.

These pics of an allegedly haunted and definitely abandoned vacation villa in San Zhi, Taiwan strike an eerily apocalyptic tone in the current setting of possible world collapse. The story is, due to construction related fatalities the building of these 70s era luxury vacation villas was halted leaving the strange, futuristic ufo-shaped homes still rotting today. (more…)
